The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is in need of school kits to help children who lack access to books and essential school supplies. During the month of October, our service and missions committee invites you shop for and assemble school kits at home and return them to the church on October 25th between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. To access the packing list for these kits click here: School Kits.
In an effort to make this opportunity available to all who would like to serve, we will be offering boxes of supplies to persons who are not yet comfortable or able to shop for materials. Our 7service and missions team will deliver supplies to your home by October 17th so that you can assemble kits too! Those requesting this service can then return the assembled kits to the church on October 25th or request contactless pick up from your home. To participate in this way, email Kristen@fumcbelmont.org.
**A note about cleaning buckets and hygiene kits: Previously, in the month of October, our congregation hosted an opportunity to assemble hygiene kits and cleaning buckets. Western North Carolina Conference does not currently have a need for additional kits or buckets and has asked us specifically to contribute school kits at this time.
