ROOM IN THE INN (RITI)
We are living into our mission to be more like Jesus Christ to our community by partnering with Christ 
United Methodist Church in providing emergency shelter during the winter for those without a place to stay. Neighbors who could be families, single women or men are registered and checked in at the Day Service center in Charlotte at 945 N College Street. We will pick up on six Saturdays at 5:30 (between December and March) 10 neighbors and deliver them to Christ UMC where they will be fed a hot meal, use their facilities to have a shower and provided an air bed to sleep on for the night. On Sunday at 7:30am we use our bus to take the neighbors back to the Day Services Center.
Christ UMC provides the facilities to host this program and the overnight chaperones. We will partner by using our bus for transportation, help set up the air beds, assist in preparing and serving the dinner. The Sunday school classes at Christ provide a hot breakfast at 6:45 (which you are invited to) and does all the clean up and washing of bedding. Our only need on Sundays is to provide transportation.
