Care & Compassion

Care and Compassion
We are a church who values care and compassion. Caring for one another is not the job of our pastor alone. All of us strive to offer support, encouragement and prayer for one another in need.

PASTORAL SUPPORT

Our pastor is available to offer pastoral support at any time. Please call the church office at 704-825-2106 with any need or in the event of an emergency.

THE CARING CONGREGATION MINISTRY

The Caring Congregation ministry was established by the pastors and staff at Resurrection Church in Kansas City, MO.  It uses a team approach that empowers pastors and laity working together to effectively support our congregation and community. The national website is: www.thecaringcongregation.com

Each one of our lay Congregational Care Ministers (CCM) has said yes to the call God has placed on their lives.  Our CCM’s have completed a two-day training seminar with the national Caring Congregation trainers.  This training emphasizes how to listen effectively while keeping all information confidential.  Our Congregational Care Ministers are a spiritual presence in your time of need.  They can provide resources for mental health, family support through addiction, and food or other basic necessities.

Are you going through a difficult time and feel like the weight of the world is on your shoulders?  Would you like to be contacted by a lay Congregational Care Minister?  If so, please fill out the fumcbelmont.org/request and check the box that says I would like to be contacted by a lay Congregational Care Minister.

COUNSELING

Our church also supports the ministry of Serenity Pastoral Counseling. The Reverend Shelton Davis, a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and pastoral psychotherapist, has an office on our campus to serve our church and community. To learn more about Shelton’s ministry or to make an appointment, please visit www.serenitypastoralcounseling.org.

PRAYER REQUESTS

Our church is committed to regular prayer for one another. We share a prayer list each Sunday, and send email updates throughout the week. If you have a prayer concern you’d like for us to know about, you can submit it here.
