The Mission Response Center for the United Methodist Church is located in Terrell , North Carolina. This warehouse stores flood buckets, clothing, hygiene kits and school supplies to ship to areas who experience a disaster. FUMCB wants to help keep their warehouse full of those supplies for the next disaster. Therefore on November 13th we will pack 72 buckets to deliver to Terrell for storage in preparation for the next natural disaster. The United Methodist Committee on Relief reminds us the cost to fill one flood bucket and ship it will be approximately $75.00. Due to a generous donation of 50 buckets from LOWE’s we will be able to make more buckets for less this season. If you would like to “Buy a Bucket” to help UMCOR, please donate whatever amount you can by clicking this link to our online giving page. Please do not put your donation in the offering plate as it may be overlooked and counted as general offering. Leave your check, with the memo Flood-bucket, in the secure deposit box outside the office door.
Also, on November 13th at 6:30 the Service and Missions Committee will have all the supplies necessary to prepare 500 sandwiches for A Roof Above in Charlotte. We will also be writing letters to those who are serving in our military. This will be a great night being Jesus in the flesh for our community.
