Fill the House

Even in uncertain times, our FUMC Belmont congregation continues to be the hands and feet of Jesus and serve the less fortunate in our community.  Our June mission, Operation Sandwich was a huge success!  Thank you so much to all who made sandwiches to feed the homeless who are served by Urban Ministries.  We collected and delivered over 1,000 sandwiches!

During the month of July, we would like to offer another opportunity to serve our community right here in Belmont.  Catherine’s House is a wonderful mission that provides housing to women and children facing homelessness.  Each resident is not only provided with a safe place to live, but also “empowered with skills, information and the confidence she needs to regain – then sustain – a healthy and productive life.”

Catherine’s House is currently in need of the following items:

  • Paper towels
  • Tall drawstring kitchen trash bags
  • Bottled water
  • Canned chicken
  • Soup
  • Ground coffee
  • K-cups coffee
  • Clorox wipes

Household Items needed for resident rooms:

  • Twin comforters
  • Pillow Cases
  • Small trash cans
  • Lamps

All donations will be collected Wednesday evening July 23rd from 7:00 – 8:00 pm in the church parking lot or Sunday morning July 26th during the 8:30 am worship service.  To continue to practice social distancing, items may be placed directly into cars or a bin and all donations will be delivered at one time.  Thank you again for your willingness to be like Jesus Christ for our community and beyond.  If you have questions, please contact Lisa Millspaw (704-691-9351) or Jessica Durham (704-418-4677).
