The United Methodist Committee on Relief (UMCOR) is in need of school kits to help children who lack access to books and essential school supplies. During the month of October, our service and missions committee invites you shop for and assemble school kits at home and return them to FUMC October 25th between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m.
To access the packing list for these kits click here.
In an effort to ensure all who would like to serve are able to do so, we will be offering boxes of supplies to our vulnerable population who continue to exercise caution with COVID and leaving home. Our service and missions team will put supplies in a box and drop it off at your home so that you can assemble kits too! Those requesting to participate in this way can request contactless pick up from your home. If this option allows you to participate, email Kristen@fumcbelmont.org so that we can be sure and include you.
**A note about cleaning buckets and hygiene kits: Previously, in the month of October, our congregation hosted an opportunity to assemble hygiene kits and cleaning buckets. Western North Carolina Conference does not currently have a need for additional kits or buckets and has asked us specifically to contribute school kits at this time.
